Description |
| You've seen them in restaurants and theaters--those tubes full of lights proprietors use to mark stair edges and other potential hazards this might be fallen down or tripped over in dim light. This's not to say this Good Earth Lighting's rope lighting products can only be used in public venues--you could use them as funky accent lighting in a living room, party lighting, or to outline a path in your backyard. The key to utilizing these lights to full result is mounting them securely, and everything you want in order to do this is integrated in the hardware kit, which contains mounting clips, cable ties, and screws. The lights themselves are extremely long-lasting--they're rated at 35,000 hours, and the heavy-duty PVC rope is an unobtrusive 3/8-inch in diameter. For longer runs, you can effortlessly connect one set to another (up to 330 feet maximum). The G9524CLR-I is 24 feet long, and operates at 120 volts. If you want other lengths, see the 6-, 12-, and 48-foot models (#G9506CLR-I, #G9512CLR-I, #G9548CLR-I). Note this these lights will heat up when in use--they should not be left on unattended. Average and faulty 2010-03-10 |
| By Zachary C. Kimble (Afghanistan) |
I bought these to light up my hut in Afghanistan and thought they worked fairly well. I then strung the rope up and where the rope bent at a loose 90 degrees that section has burnt out.
I would also like to have an on/off switch for this product as well. |
NOT A BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT 2010-01-31 |
| By CAPT RON (OUTER BANKS NC) |
| THESE LIGHTS ARE GREAT BUT IF YOU WANT A WHITE WHITE LIGHT THESE ARE NOT THE LIGHTS FOR YOU. WE BOUGHT THE CLEAR LIGHTS BUT THEY ARE REALLY MORE OF A PALE WHITE, DIRTY WHITE OR REAL LIGHT YELLOW LIGHT. WE HAVE SOME CLEAR LED LIGHTS IN THE YARD AND YOU CAN REALLY TELL THE DIFFERENCE BUT THE ROPE LIGHTS ARE GREAT, JUST NOT WHITE....... |
The Little Things 2010-01-09 |
| By Solo Goodspeed (Granada Hills, CA United States) |
| I use little lights like this to add ambience to as well as illuminate my home media studio. I was using regular xmas lights and had the string go out on me, so I decided to give these a try. Love how they ship with their own custom sized clips for mounting, it's going to look a lot better than hanging from nails like the previous lights. The heavy duty protective tubing is a plus, I'll be able to hang stuff from that as well later if I like..... though when you first open it, it is tightly coiled and needs to be untangled, like I said heavy duty, you have to really work it straight so it doesn't coil up on you when installing. The scored/capped end makes it so you can easily add continuation to the tube, which I'll most likely be doing. A great decorative addition to my eccentric setup here, as well as a quality package. Serious lighting, suitable for indoor and outdoor use. |
Does the job 2009-12-31 |
| By Nathan Beauchamp (Oak Park, IL USA) |
I bought these to create some interesting lighting effects in my home office and bedroom. I found them easy to install using the provided clips. (I used my own screws as those provided are extremely cheap and don't seat properly on any drill bit--they appear somewhere near a Phillips 1 point, but don't seat correctly and are virtually unusable). All of my lights worked just fine right out of the box.
Installations tips:
1) Get yourself some quality size #10 .5 inch screws from your hardware store.
2) Plug in the light before installing it. It will heat the plastic and make it much more flexible and easy to work with as you go along.
3) You can also use cable ties to mount the lights if you get the clear plastic variety. These work as good or better than the clips for some applications.
These are very inexpensive rope lights and look great. Reading reviews it seems their quality may be hit-or-miss, but if you get a good set they're a really good value.

| By Joe Harrison (Tennessee) |
The Good Earth Lighting, Inc. G9524CLR-I 24-Foot Rope Lighting, (Clear) are great rope lights. I used them to light the underside of some shelves. The Amazon price was super. I'll buy more soon.
