I got this set because I needed a portable to do in home photography as client locations. This definately a portable system. I would recommend setting it up a few times because it takes some getting used to. For instance the backdrop bar is a twist lock system. Depending on how wide you need it it doesn't always want to unlock so easily. although since I use fabric backdrops I like that the pole isn't so thick that I can't use a pair of big clips to hold everything in place. The stands that hold the poles up have the best stability when the 3 bar support is completely level with each other. This makes the base circumference pretty big for each stand I'ld say a little shy of 3 feet. Depending on where you're working the backdrop starts eating up alot of room. It's definately a great starter but could use some improvement.

The stands are very sturdy able to customize the size you need and easily connect into the support bar. It only takes about 2 minutes to assemble with the screen and holds perfect!

I needed a support system that was mobile, easy to put up, take down and store. I will be using it to shoot short educational videos and I have rather limited space in my home. I was a little skeptical about this backdrop support but now that it has arrived and I set it up in less than 10 minutes, I am impressed. Very light but sturdy enough. Expandable as described and can be moved easily. I think this will work very well for my situation. Much easier than hammering a support for a background into my walls or ceiling.
